Christmas Greetings from the Yorks

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We hope you are all well and having a wonderful holiday. Another amazing year has past and it is all such a blur. Our studio portraits got lost in the mail, so we ended up just doing the traditional christmas cards and this web site.

Jenna is currently in pre-school and both Jake and Jenna go to gymnastics. Kari is a super-mom -- besides keeping the York house in order, she still finds time to help out at church. Kelly still works at the Selling Source as an IT director.

For those who are not faint at heart, below is a quick summary of our year:

Jenna turned 3 in February and we had a little birthday party at Music bug. Jake turned 2 in March -- we got blown out of the party at the park by a wind storm and had to relocate the party to our house. That was ok, we just had everyone relocate, including Dave move the catering truck from the park to the front of our house (literally), no problemo!

In May, we sold Kelly's truck that was a money pit and bought a Prius. This turned out to be a good move as gas went over $4.00 a gallon shortly there after. It will go back up next year.

We had lots of fun trips in our travel trailer we call our "tater." We really enjoyed going to Zion with the Kostelecs in February. Even though it was cold and there was lot's of snow, we had a good time hiking, or rather slipping and sliding on our butts. We were especially thankful to spend quality time with them before they moved to Michigan in July. We miss them.

Our favorite trip was San Diego, where we went in August to Sea World for 2 days and the Zoo. Sea World was a blast! The kids met Elmo and all the Sesame characters which was their favorite part.

Starting over Labor Day weekend, Kari and the kids spent more than a week in the mountains near Vegas roughing it all by themselves, . Kari hates the heat so this was a good way to cool off. They had a great time and there are lots of good people up there. Kelly spent hour getting the generator to work was lots of fun! (Kelly says thanks Jim for loaning me your spark plug wrench).

Kari and the kids did come down from the mountains briefly for Sharon and Bills 40th wedding anniversary party. We're glad we were all able to celebrate a special day for a special couple.

In October, Kari and Kelly went on a short trip to Oregon, we flew into Portland, spent a few days there to check out the area. We headed down south to see Kari's Uncle Rich and family in Bandon. Along the way we stopped in Corvalis briefly. The drive along the coast was awesome (full fall colors). Rich is a great chef and they hosted us at his house and ate at his gourmet restaurant overlooking the coast. We also stopped in to see a Arthur Miller play at the Ashland Shakespeare festival before flying out of Medford. We hope to go back next summer with the kids and stop by crater lake.

We had lots of family over for Thanksgiving at our house this year. Unfortunately, Samantha was very sick, so the Difulvios could not attend, but Josh did get to spend the night with his cousins for the first time. We're glad Samantha is back to her happy and energetic self.

To top everything off, last Wednesday, it snowed more than 3 inches at our house in Vegas -- the most snow in 30 years (and yes, Kelly was here for that snow too. Might be time to move as hell finally froze over). We built snowmen all over, here is Jenna with the 8 footer in the back yard. We still have mostly a white yard as we write this, 5 days later... We lost the trees in the back yard from the weight of the snow, as the branches broke off -- maybe the stumps will recover.

The weather man predicts it may even snow on Christmas eve. Now that would be something!

Happy Holidays!

Love,

The Younger Yorks (who are feeling not so young anymore)
